Collaborate with us
Many thanks for your interest in being a part of The Perthshire Magazine. There are several ways that you can get involved with Perthshire’s popular digital publication:
send us an article
We are looking for local business owners, artists, service providers and producers of Perthshire products to contribute guest articles. If this sounds like something you would enjoy, or that would benefit your business, do get in touch. Please be aware though, we do ask that guest articles offer valuable or useful content to our readers and are not simply advertorials. If you are looking to take out an advertisement with us please go to our Advertise page. If you would like to submit something to us please see the guidelines and terms below, then email us at email@example.com with the subject line 'Contributing to The Perthshire Magazine.' We cannot accept articles (or adverts) through social media, though you may make an initial enquiry through these.
Guidelines for Guest Articles:
The magazine will be published on the first day of each month, beginning in April 2018. That means that the deadline for getting your articles in will be the 15th day of the month before. So for our March edition the deadline is February 15th etc.
We would like a word count of between 600 and 1500 words (roughly). Please also send at least three high definition good quality photos (don’t worry about sending a huge file, we like it), but preferably more if you have them. It would be great if you could provide a short biography in the third person to introduce yourself to our readers. You can also let us know of any links or contact details you would like included at the end of your article. There is no need to format your article - our designers will put it all together for you. We cannot guarantee to publish any articles we are sent and it may be best to send an enquiry by email first. We always try to answer within a few days. Also, we are working several months ahead of time, so if your article is time sensitive you will need to get it to us well ahead of the month you'd like to see it published.
Please also see our terms and conditions at the bottom of this page.

Invite us for a review
We are open to suggestions and invitations for places to visit and events to report on. We are particularly looking for outdoor activities, special events, product launches and tourist attractions or accommodation to review. If you would like us to cover your event or business please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org using the subject line 'An Invitation to The Perthshire Magazine.' We do not charge for our reviews, but we do like our expenses covered!
You can also offer to send us a Perthshire product for review, drop us an email and, if interested, we’ll get back to you with a postal address.

Offer to be interviewed
Every month The Perthshire Magazine interviews a local, independent creative about what they make. It can be anything from pottery, to watercolours, to jewellery, to furniture, as long as you make it yourself, live in Perthshire and sell some of your work. If you think you might qualify, email us at email@example.com with the subject line ‘Creative Perthshire Interview.’

Send us a press release
We get sent an awful lot of press releases and we can’t publish them all in the magazine itself, however much we’d like to. Partly because of space, but also because many press releases have time constraints that magazine articles do not. If you send your press release at just the right moment (i.e. around about the 15th of the month before you want it published) we may be able to put it in the magazine, but if we can’t we will often publish it on our Perthshire Events and News blog instead. So send your press release along and we’ll see what we can do!
Tell us about your event
We offer free event listings. Simply email us with a short description of your event and the date, time and location by the 15th of the month before the event. We cannot guarantee to publish it, but we will try to do so. Please note that we only list special events such as festivals, and annual occasions such as a Highland Gathering. We do not list weekly or monthly events by businesses for which a fee is charged. If you wish to publicise such an event please see our ‘advertise’ page. If you’re not sure if your event qualifies please feel free to make an enquiry by email.
Offer a competition prize
We love doing giveaways for our readers and they’re a fantastic way to spread the word about your business. We promote our giveaways extensively on social media and always get a great response. If you want to collaborate with us on a giveaway please drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with your proposed prize. Exclusive reader discounts are also welcome.
Help spread the word
As you know, we are happy to support Perthshire businesses and creatives by featuring them in our magazine without charge. However, if we publish your article it would be much appreciated if you would help spread the word about us by informing your friends and contacts that you will be appearing in The Perthshire Magazine and posting about it on social media. And any business, whether featured or not, can ask for some flyers to display at their premises. We are very grateful for your support and love cultivating long-term relationships with local companies.
