A new programme of hands-on cookery classes is launching at Love to Cook cook school, bringing a fresh and engaging food experience to the heart of Crieff.

The recently opened cook school, pâtisserie and bakery, located on King Street, is part of the town’s growing reputation as a destination for artisan food and drink. Founded by Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef Sam Heeney-Governo, Love to Cook offers small, hands-on classes designed to build confidence and creativity in the kitchen.

The cook school has already begun to build a strong local following, with early classes generating positive word-of-mouth. The new class programme includes a mix of baking, pastry and savoury courses, alongside the introduction of a new Back to Basics series focused on simple, seasonal cooking.

“All of the classes are about making cooking feel approachable and enjoyable,” says Sam. “Whether someone is completely new to the kitchen or looking to build on existing skills, the focus is always on simple techniques that really make a difference.”

Classes are kept small to create a relaxed, informal atmosphere, with participants learning by doing and taking home everything they make.

In addition to its scheduled classes, Love to Cook also offers bespoke sessions for private groups, celebrations and corporate events, tailored to suit a wide range of interests and abilities. Professional development and advanced pâtisserie classes are also available for chefs and experienced bakers looking to refine their skills.

The cook school is also welcoming visitors to the area who are looking to experience local food in a more hands-on way. A selection of curated classes highlights seasonal Scottish and Perthshire produce, offering a genuine introduction to the region’s ingredients and flavours.

With its combination of practical learning, seasonal cooking and a warm, personal approach, Love to Cook is quickly establishing itself as a must-visit for both locals and visitors alike.
