AD | From the Garden to the Larder – Renowned TV & Stage Actress Caroline Quentin to Perform a Book Signing at Kinross-shire Store

One of the UK's best loved actresses, Caroline Quentin, will be appearing in person at Loch Leven’s Larder in September.
Best known for her roles in “Men Behaving Badly” and “Jonathan Creek”, Caroline will be signing copies of her new book, “Drawn to Nature” described as a comforting and inspiring companion for anyone who wants to nurture a greener, calmer life.
The follow up to Caroline’s first book, the Sunday Times Bestseller “Drawn to the Garden” which was nominated for Book of the Year Non Fiction in the British Book Awards 2025, the new book, illustrated with Caroline’s own drawings & paintings throughout, capturing flora, fauna, landscapes, is as visually delightful as it is heartfelt.

A keen artist all of her life, as well as a passionate gardener, Caroline has always drawn what she has grown. “Drawn to Nature” aims to help the reader find joy and calm in the natural world, taking them on “a warm journey into nature, wherever they live and whatever their space.”
Structured through the colours of the rainbow, the book blends gentle storytelling with practical wisdom, with Caroline's sharing easy ideas for staying connected to nature, even when life changes. Anecdotes from her life as an actor, interwoven with memories of places and people that shaped her love of the outdoors, will delight her many fans on social media where she’s at the heart of her own vibrant gardening community.
With the assistance of her husband Sam, Caroline has also developed a range of personally illustrated products under her CQ Gardens banner, “a place to share everything I love most”, including tea towels, aprons, gift cards, and gardener’s Hand Salve and Hand Soap, beautifully scented with celery seed. The salve and soap are now stocked in the Gift Store at Loch Leven’s Larder, as well as online.

“Already being a massive fan of Caroline’s I discovered that she was developing a retail range, perfect for gardeners. I then had the pleasure of meeting Caroline at The Spring Fair tradeshow, where she was exhibiting items from the collection. She is a very talented lady. We had a lovely chat about gardening and wildlife,” said Emma.
“Katie, my Head of Retail, who was with me at the trade show, instantly fell in love with the gardener’s salve and soap which have Caroline’s own intricate drawing of a celery seed on the packaging. We knew they would be a perfect fit for our many customers, who like, Caroline, love to be outdoors, pottering about in their own gardens.”
Emma went on to say that she was really pleased that “Caroline's busy schedule is allowing her an opportunity to come to Scotland to meet fans of her work here in Kinross-shire. For those who follow her gardening exploits on socials, it will be a real treat to finally meet her and have the opportunity to buy a signed copy of her latest book.”

Caroline has been kept busy filming “Last Resort”, a new series in Kilkenny, Ireland, for Channel 5, where she stars with Tessa Peake-Jones and Jason Watkins.
When not on stage or on screen, Caroline can be found in the garden tending to her vegetables, pruning her roses, and looking out for wildlife.
