The time of goodwill to all and thoughtful gift-giving is soon to be upon us... and so the creative studio tenants at Perth Creative Exchange are offering a warm welcome to their fourth artist-led Winter Market and Open Studios over the weekend of 6th to 7th December!

Perth has become a go-to destination for winter celebrations in the past few years and the Christmas lights will be glowing across the City. Just two streets away from the city centre, Perth Creative Exchange is fast becoming a go-to destination for shoppers and art lovers to put in the diary with the Winter Market & Open Studios being the ideal event to find that unique, beautifully made gift or treat for yourself. It's an experience that's just a bit more than a Christmas market!

One of the highlights of the Winter Event is the opportunity to meet the makers in person and this year we are proud to introduce some new faces in an array of professional makers from Perthshire and across Scotland. There’s nothing quite like finding out the stories behind the work and seeing the studios where the magic happens. From award winning paintings and drawings to hand thrown ceramics, textile art, jewellery, printmaking, woodworking, book-making and homewares. You can also find some handmade festive decorations to give your home that unique sparkle.

Of course there will be coffee and cake from Perth’s own Catering Twist to keep you refreshed. And you will need it, our visitors always tell us that there is so much more to see than they expected, so give yourself plenty of time to browse the all the stalls and studios. The building is fully accessible for wheelchairs and buggies, and we love to meet your well behaved four-pawed friends.

This old St Johns Primary School building—now managed by WASPS—is celebrating its 5th year since being reimagined as a home for creative studios and businesses. This year also sees more additions to the facilities available: new flexible desk spaces for hire; renewed sponsorship for the technology centre - Perth Ideas Centre; and three new community facilities – ceramic & glass kilns and a dark room - backed by Unesco City of Craft & Folk Art. Come along and get a flavour of the exciting things going on in this wonderful building.
