May is a glorious month.  As days continue to grow longer, lighter and warmer, everywhere comes alive with colour, activity and a surge of energy as we shake off the last remnants of winter. Gardens, woodlands and hedgerows burst into life and we are drawn outdoors to enjoy activities and events, including fabulous creative and cultural pop up events like the Perth Creative Exchange Spring Market, Strathmore Open Studios and ArTay, and the monthly Aberfeldy Arts & Crafts Fair.

Several Perthshire Artisans will be taking part in these local events, and if you love handmade and original artworks, getting to see their work and chatting in person, is a great day out.  These events not only showcase the incredible creative talent living and working throughout Perth & Kinross, they also offer the chance to gain an insight into their creative process and hear the stories behind their work.

Whether you’re curious about how they create, looking for something special or keen to step inside a working studio, these events promise a rewarding and inspiring day out. Be sure to mark these dates in your diary:

The artist run Perth Creative Exchange Spring Market & Open Studios is on 24/25 May at Stormont St, Perth, and ArTay as part of the Perth Festival of the Arts runs from 22-25 May in a pop-up gallery at the outdoor plaza of Perth Concert Hall.  Strathmore Open Studios runs from 23-26 May and the monthly Aberfeldy Arts & Crafts Fair is the first Sunday of the month at the Birks Cinema.
