AD | The Value of Perthshire Artisans
Advertorial Feature
Perthshire Artisans is a gateway to the incredible makers and artists across the region and yet it is so much more than a network of local creatives. It is a vibrant creative community that brings people together through connection, encouragement and a shared passion for original, quality handmade work.
For creatives, particularly those who often work alone, that sense of belonging is invaluable. Perthshire Artisans provides members with a supportive professional network where they can share knowledge, build confidence, exchange ideas and find the encouragement to take their creative practice further. Through meet-ups, exhibitions, networking, learning opportunities and practical guidance, members are supported not only as artists and makers, but as creative business owners.
This support can be transformative, and only exists thanks to the rural enterprise support organisation GrowBiz Scotland, who six years ago understood the value of providing relatable sectorial business support for creative clients. Members describe becoming more confident and ambitious, experimenting with new ideas and pursuing opportunities that might previously have seemed out of reach. Being part of Perthshire Artisans can also help creatives see themselves more confidently as professionals and develop sustainable creative practices.
Yet the value of Perthshire Artisans extends beyond its members. For people looking to source original, thoughtfully made artwork, the platform offers an opportunity to discover talented local creatives and support the people behind the work. Every purchase can contribute directly to an artist or maker’s creative journey, helping sustain independent creative businesses and encouraging the continuation of skilled, distinctive handmade practices.
At its core, Perthshire Artisans creates a meaningful connection between those who make and those who value handmade work—strengthening Perthshire’s creative community, while celebrating originality, craftsmanship, the people who bring them to life and supporting Perth as the UK’s only UNESCO City of Crafts and Folk Art.
