AD | Perthshire Artisans Turns Five!
Long summer days, sweet Perthshire strawberries, Potfest at Scone Palace, and the magic of midsummer, June is full of delights. It’s also a milestone month for us at Perthshire Artisans as we celebrate our 5th birthday!
Five years ago and run on a non-profit basis, Perthshire Artisans was launched as an online platform by GrowBiz, Scotland’s rural enterprise support organisation, to shine a light on the incredible creative talent across Perth & Kinross. What started with just nine pilot artists (seven of whom are still with us today!) has grown into a thriving community that will soon include 46 artists and makers.
At the heart of Perthshire Artisans is community. Beyond showcasing and marketing our members' work, we offer tailored business support and, just as importantly, provide a space where creatives can connect, collaborate, and support one another. Whether it’s sharing feedback, celebrating wins, or simply seeing a friendly face at an event, our members know they’re not working in isolation, even in the most picturesque corners of Perthshire.
Jeweller and Perthshire Artisan Diana Law beautifully captures the sense of connection and support shared by many of our members: ‘I feel supported and connected to a network of other creatives. It’s hugely important to have an outlet to share ideas, thoughts and business proposals. Being self employed can be a lonely place and being part of Perthshire Artisans means I can reach out whenever I need to, air views, gather opinions. A few like minded minds are better than one!,
We love keeping you updated on their latest work, where you can meet them, new products, exhibitions, collaborations, and more. Supporting their creative journeys is why Perthshire Artisans exists. The easiest way to stay connected is by following us on Instagram and Facebook, signing up for our fortnightly newsletter, and exploring our website. When you buy from our online shop or meet our makers in person at events, you’re not just making a purchase, you’re supporting small, local businesses and choosing a more sustainable, meaningful, and rewarding way to shop.
Here’s to the next five years, and hoping they are filled with even more remarkable people and beautiful creations! We are also celebrating this milestone with our second Summer Exhibition, at the Civic Hall, 2 High St, Perth from 9-17 August.
