AD | Festive Comedy Lunch will Take Place Again this December at The Red House Hotel

The Red House Hotel in Coupar Angus is once again offering its popular festive comedy lunch event, which this year will take place with renowned comedian and public speaker, Willie Allan MBE.

Happening on Friday, the 19th of December at 2pm, the event costs £45 per person, and includes Willie's performance, together with a delicious four course meal.

Showcasing many of the hotel’s most sought after Christmas dishes, it offers everything from traditional roast turkey, braised beef short ribs, and pork, pistachio & apricot terrine, to a delectable white chocolate and ginger cheesecake, followed by coffee and mints.

“Our festive comedy lunch is always very popular with our local clientele, especially people that perhaps don't want to be out too late at night in the cold,” said Hotel Owner, Alan Bannerman.

“They can come along to this in the afternoon, and have a wonderfully festive time with their friends, whilst enjoying a delicious lunch. At the same time, Willie, whom we note has told us that his parents were in the licence trade for 50 years, will certainly raise a good few laughs. We are really pleased to secure his services for this year's festive lunch.”

One of the most popular After Dinner speakers on the Scottish circuit, Willie Allan was born in Edinburgh and brought up in Dunfermline where he worked as a PE teacher for 32 years, becoming principal teacher of PE at Buckhaven High School, in Fife, a position he held for 22 years.

A keen sportsman, Willie spent 13 seasons with Dunfermline Rugby Club, also representing the North & The Midlands. Committed to the game of golf, he would be the first to say he's not the best at the game!

Having been on the after dinner circuit since 1992, and appointed an MBE for his services to youth rugby and charity in 2017, Willie describes his speaking style as disruption of expectation. He also acts as an auctioneer, and gives motivational presentations based on his experience in education, stimulating fresh ideas and different viewpoints.
