AD | Golf Tourism Award Nomination Success Once Again for Red House Hotel

It's been a great start to the year for the Red House Hotel in Coupar Angus, which has once again been nominated for Best Budget Friendly Golf Hotel in the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards 2026.

The Red House Hotel—the last remaining hotel in Coupar Angus—which regularly attracts golfing guests from all over the country, was pleased to win the award in 2024, as well as in 2016.

Now in their 13th year, the awards aim to highlight and celebrate the outstanding achievements within the Scottish golf tourism industry by recognising the finest courses, hotels and experiences that have helped shape Scotland's reputation as a world-class golfing destination.

Along with recognising a variety of prestigious championship courses, they uncover many hidden gems across parkland and links courses around the country. They also recognise the huge contribution that hospitality offers to visiting golfers—a reflection of what constitutes a truly warm, Scottish welcome to tourists.

“We are really looking forward to this year’s award ceremony once again,” said Red House Hotel owner, Alan Bannerman. “It’s always good to be nominated as we have a great night at the ceremony, networking with other hotels and golfing organisations.”

Alan went on to say that the Red House had experienced one of its strongest years last year, in terms of the number of golfing guests it looked after.

“We had the most golfers come and stay yet,” he said. “Being close to so many amazing golf courses means we have the edge location wise. Blairgowrie Golf Course, just along the road, with its two fantastic courses, is a tremendous venue. We always try to offer our guests the best preferential rates at time of booking for a whole host of courses throughout the area.”

“Best Budget Friendly Golf Hotel is exactly what we are about!” continued Alan. “We excel at giving golfers a fantastic value for money service. Our prices are affordable, meaning they can get away to golf with their friends, whilst our experienced staff really enjoy looking after them. We see many of the same faces repeatedly back to us year after year so we know we are doing something right!”

The Scottish Golf Tourism Awards Ceremony will take place at the National Museum of Scotland, in Edinburgh, on Thursday 12th March.
